The Merchandising Coordinator is responsible for developing merchandising strategies and techniques that drive profit and customer satisfaction for HVAC and Plumbing products. This role includes merchandising planning and coordinating of activities to open new branch locations, remodel branches, create product displays and merchandising plans, and determine signage needs.
General Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to build project timelines, manage and prioritize workload, ensure projects remain on schedule and proactively identify issues as they arise
- Develop and maintain cross-department and vendor relationships, working closely with stakeholders, agencies, and other contributors to ensure projects and events are seamless, high quality and completed on time and within budget
- Other duties as assigned or as opportunities arise to support the company
New Branch / Branch Remodel Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with project team on creating counter merchandising plans and designs layouts based on stock product
- Establishes plan and support for each phase of counter product population and provides direction for personnel support (counter sales, other branches, vendor) provided by branch CSM
- Coordinates with team on planning, designing, and installation of interior and exterior signage, talkers, literature holders, etc.
Merchandising Responsibilities:
- Dedicates adequate time for both Branded Manufacturers and 33Brands products
- Visits all Core Branches at least once per year
- Reviews and recommends improvements for merchandising, optimizing stock, tidying shelves, etc. working with Sales and Purchasing to execute
- Reviews and assists with literature replenishment as needed
- Reviews and assists with signage updates as needed
- Recommends and communicates plans for inline shelving, end caps, and point of purchase displays, including making space for new product introductions and seasonal changes
- Collaborates with sales and purchasing teams to plan and execute vendor display opportunities including assisting with display set up, slat wall, and inline shelving
- Assisting with stock levels/replenishment
- Providing on-site support as needed
- Trains CSM and sales teams on:
- Merchandising best practices
- How to maintain merchandising for both Branded Manufacturer and 33brands products
- 33brands selling techniques, cross-selling, and up-selling to increase average order size, especially for new products
- Works with Sales, Vendors and Reps to assist with counter promotions, lunch & learns, scratch & dent sales, etc.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of project management and/or event planning experience
- Minimum of 1 year of field merchandising experience
- Minimum of 1 year of counter (wholesale or retail) sales experience (or equivalent)
- Skilled in MS Office
- Thrives on meeting deadlines while working on multiple projects
- Excels when working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills to see projects through to completion
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Superior problem-solving and communication skills
- Travel is required approximately 80% of the time, within the company footprint (Ohio, western Pennsylvania and Wheeling, West Virginia) so the candidate must be able to accommodate this lifestyle.

Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the Merchandising Specialist is regularly required to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
